This is what a “Bot farm” looks like.
It will start with a simple “hello”. The name will have numbers as it is A.I generated. The Bot will have “reads”. But no post. The Bot will go after the opposite sex and be very flirty. ( your not that good looking ). The Bot will use an A.I. generated image for the profile or it will be scraped off other social media.
Here is an example.
I had already checked the profile so I knew it was a bot.
Every follow is sorted in alphabetical order as the bot adds everyone. Each time the actual person(s) logs in, it will continue down the list. If you see activity like this… REPORT IT. Your own list will be in alphabetical order as well, but notice how the bots stop at a certain letter and the speed at which it subscribes to pages.
A.I. - Bots - are looking to do one thing . Get your personal information and drain your bank account. The Bot will flirt and say they wish to meet you. The end of that conversation ends with a link to a “Background Check” so she “feels safe”. There once you make payment it will now have your account information. That background check website is a “Clone” of a real one.
Do not engage with bots, just use the report function.
I witnessed a co-worker who had an “Online girlfriend”. It was a chat bot and I told him that. Alas he did not believe me. That bot after a 6 month period ended up draining his bank account. He was a classic target.
A Bot farm can run thousands of Bots. It’s cost effective, minimal work and very lucrative. Russia, China, Iran and North Korea are notorious for running “Bot Farms”. Thousands of machines running at the same time.
I have blocked at least a dozen bots! They reached out in precisely the way you described!
Thank you for the information.
